The 'Festival Pub' is actually a big marquee which will include the following:
There’s no better place to start the day than at the Festival Pub, which is located near the main entrance. Take time to get your bearings, stock up on beer tokens and buy your special Spring Festival tasting glass.
After that, you’re good to go. You’ve got as long as it takes to sample the carefully-selected real ales, wines, local fruit-flavoured liqueurs, ciders and perrys. With plenty of live music to keep you entertained throughout the weekend, you’ve time to sit back, relax and simply enjoy the weekend. Grab a spot near the live music stage to enjoy a mix of traditional and contemporary music and beat a path to the pumps when you need a refill.
Beers are a snip from £1.50 per half-pint and you’ve the entire weekend to take advantage of plenty of different varieties. This year’s Spring Festival will be bigger and better than ever. We’ve increased the number of ales on sale by around 40 – giving you plenty of opportunities to seek out new favourites. You’ll have plenty of time to sample the best that our local and regional breweries have to offer – you can select the beers that best suit your palate.

THE BEER FESTIVAL - Around 180 barrels of real ale for your delight - supplied and operated for us by SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers) www.siba.co.uk, featuring small breweries from Wales and the West. Most of the draught ales will be entered into the -SIBA Wales & West Beer Competition. The judging for this will be taking place on Friday 10th May, and the winners will be announced the same day.
The draught beers, which will be on sale, must be purchased with tokens (no cash will be accepted) to allow us to offer a speedy bar service. These are available at the Token Stand situated in the Festival Pub. More about tokens. This year we have special Spring Festival half-pint souvenir tasting glasses which cost £2, but if you choose not to buy one of these we will gladly serve your beer in a compostable plastic glass.
TASTING CARD - This is the chance to try NINE beers for £9 which includes your festival souvenir half pint glass as well - for your £10 you get nine 1/3 pints of Real Ale which gives you the chance to try more of the brews during your visit.
WINE BAR - operated by Wroxeter Vineyard; offering a selection of English wines produced by themselves and others - selling by the glass or bottle. You can use your tokens here too.
NON ALCOHOLIC - manned by Radnor Hills there will be delicious chilled fruit drinks and water available for those under 18 and the drivers!
MUSIC STAGE will be continually running throughout the event adding some atmosphere, but at a volume that will not interfere with the general ambience of the event.
The judging will be taking place on Friday 10th May 2013 and there will be more beer entered that we have ever had before....
So we recomend coming along to the 'Meet the Brewer' event 5-9pm to sample the winning beers as once they're gone, they're gone.
On Friday 10th May you’ll be able to enjoy a glass at the ‘Festival Pub’. It will be open from 5pm, so feel free to come on in and explore as many of our real ales as you can manage. Local beermasters will be on hand and they’ll be happy to answer your questions about their work.
Brewers from some of the biggest names in the region, including Hobsons, Corvedale, Brecon Brewery, Wye Valley, Ludlow Brewery and more will share the secrets behind your favourite tipple. You’ll not only be able to sample the huge selection of beers – you’ll also be able to find out when they were brewed, what ingredients went into them and why they developed their characteristic flavours.
Great music will be played throughout the Friday evening session, to make sure you’re entertained while you drink.

Talks and Demos
Talks and demonstrations will be run from the Inner Bailey stage throughout the weekend with many of them being 'hands-on'!
Trails
With the pate trail on the Saturday and the pudding trail on the Sunday this is a tasty opportunity to explore Ludlow.
Great Food
The festival focuses on beer, bangers and bread but it is SO much more than just this, with food and drink available to suit all tastes.

With over 180 classic and vintage cars displayed inside the castle throughout the weekend there is a vehicle for everyone!
