These talks & demo's will take place in the Beacon Rooms which are on the right hand side of the Garden Area. Space is very limited so arrive early to ensure a seat

SATURDAY

11.00 Bacheldre Watermill - Flour Power - Matt from Bacheldre Watermill will talk you through flour production from corn to flour. He will show you how the process works and how he manages to produce some of the best flour in the country.

12 Brian Mellor Fresh Food Masterclass - Brian Mellor, an award winning Master Chef of Great Britain who holds Master Craftsman status, will share tips and techniques that can be recreated at home. For this year’s edition of Ludlow Spring Festival, he has specially created a dish. Come and watch the preparation of ‘Brian’s Beer Bread Banger’!

1pm Bread Baker Wannabe Workshop - Calling all wannabe bakers! Come and have some hands-on bread making experience with one of Ludlow’s youngest bakers and learn some of the tricks of the trade.

2pm Meat Dressing - From goat to sausage, meat cutting demonstration from Chestnut Meats who specialise in free range goat. They’ll be taking you through where your meat comes from and letting you take home the cuts of your choice from their stand afterwards.

3pm Will Holland’s Bread - Beer and Banger Finesse - Will Holland, Head Chef from La Bécasse doing bread, beer and bangers Michelin style! Come along and have a chance to see a master chef at work.

4pm Alex Barlow: Beer Tasting Alex Barlow is a Master Brewer and British Guild of Beer Writers award winner. His 25 years industry experience includes international brewing and beer judging. As an independent  flavour expert he developed the World's first beer tasting and style guide pack, the ALL BEER EXPERIENCE, which achieved four awards during the last year.

 

SUNDAY

11.00 Lin Whiteheads cooking adventure - Lin Whitehead from ‘The Holly and the Ivy’ cooking with local Beer, Bangers & Bread and her very own range of preserves.

12.00 The Definitive Welsh Beer Justin Grant, Head Brewer at the The Breconshire Brewery and Chairman, The Association of Welsh Independent Brewers talking about Welsh beer and a tasting of four quite different but definitively Welsh beers.

Both days - Kids cooking will take place with Easy Peasy 4 times a day and MUST be booked onto either before or on the day! This will be 12 children joining in the fun with Local to Ludlow's 'easy peasy' mobile cookery classes with hands on action for kids, one hour tutored sessions teaching cookery from scratch with tasty local and seasonal ingredients.

Demonstrations by exhibitors throughout the weekend;

The Spring Festival is full of amazing food and drink producers doing what they do best. Here are just a few of the weekend's attractions:

• Martins Jerked Meats will be presenting a series of food smoking and preservation talks throughout the event.

• Look out for Swift Bakery stand where they will be demonstrating the art of breadmaking. Visitors will be able to make their own dough, get their bread baked and then pick it up later in the day.

• Balcheldre Watermill will run their mini mill demonstration throughout the weekend, showing visitors how their ancient water mill makes such wonderful flour.
